So far so good. With just a few dovetails and a few through tenons the sawbench is coming together. I currently am waiting for the glue to dry on the mortises and I have video to edit, but I wanted to take a moment to talk about the bench construction so far.
All in all, this is an easy build and I encourage anyone who wants to build this bench to give it a shot. The only tools you really need are a tenon saw and a chisel. The dovetails don't need to be perfect and the tenons are drawbored, so they don't need to be perfect either.
In the benches current state it is actually pretty strong. But, because I will be using holdfasts both on the top and on the face I want to add some horizontal supports. The supports will be half lap dovetails. This will stop any racking that may occur and stop the legs from pulling away from each other too. Can't wait to start using this bench. I know it will far exceed the abilities of my other sawbench.
Now I have to get back to editing video.
Till next time. Get out in the shop and have some fun.
