Hi Bill. Just wanted to send a thank you for doing some of the videos and teaching that you do. Your saw bench design made sense to me, so I made my own and thought I'd send you a picture or two. I used wood that I saved from going to a landfill - an old bed frame. This is the first project I've done with only hand tools. Also the first dovetails that I've ever included in a project. I took my time with them and they are not perfect by any means, but they are not that bad, either. I learned a lot and the bench is solid as a rock.
I recently lost my shop (mostly power tools - all in storage right now), so I've set up a small "shop" and am trying to get more into hand tools. The saw bench project was a great one to learn on.
As a "thank you", I'm including my own Sketchup model, drawn in the Joe Zeh (http://www.srww.com/index.htm) method. (Joe has a series of videos where he teaches Sketchup - great stuff.) If I remember correctly, you had a Sketchup model of the bench. I hope this model is useful to you. I'm definitely not a Sketchup expert, but it's the least I could do. My model probably has some dimensions a little different from yours, but people get the idea.
Here are a couple photos of Matt's bench that he built. Looks great and I am sure it works great too.
